For some reason, over this winter I contracted a terrible case of KAS (Knife Acquisition Syndrome), closely related to GAS (Gun/Gear/Guitar Acquisition Syndrome).

It started when my fiancee bought me a s30v Blur for Christmas:

I love the Blue but the inserts are a little too rough for EDC, scuffing up my hand every time I reach on my pocket.

Worsened when I got a new job and decided to reward myself with a Mini-Barrage:

Absolutely love the Mini-Barrage

Then because I couldn't stand seeing such nice knives get crudded up by EDC duty, I rationalized buying a Leatherman e33l:

154cm Blade + Assembled in the USA + sub $30 price tag = AWESOME knife for daily duty.

I recently fell in love with the idea of a Franken Leek. I went and bought a Blue Anodized Leek (no pics yet) and then waited a bit and bought a G10 Leek. The G10 had to go back to be replaced because I was not happy in the condition it arrived (crushed box, dirt and grime around the clips screws and a slow/gritty opening). Hopefully I'll have a s30v Leek with Blue handles soon.

So that's my collection for now. I have a few knives on my wish list:

BM Presidio

William Henry E6

Himalayan Imports Kukri

A small Fixed Blade (still haven't settled, liking the ESEE 3 or Rat 3)

Emerson a-100 or mini-commander

and many many more.

I'm excited to become a member here, I just wish that I didn't have to add 092 onto my username (I'm Scurvy on a half dozen other forums but for some reason the system thinks Scurvy is a spammer name).

Cheers.

I feel ya. I got KAS too! Mine has taken the form of Zero Tolerance knives and Busse and Scrapyards.

Oh you don't have it bad yet. Try getting it so bad you went from 1 knife in mid December to 16 and waiting on 2 new arrivals any day now. :D Thank goodness for good deals on a few of them!

Yep, I'm a noob here too. My first post was to get info on a knife I got at an estate auction (buried in a box of other stuff I had use for). Turns out is is a Randall #4-7 made around 1946. So in one fell swoop I got my first Randall and it's a collecter at that. I've always liked knives and now I know I have a source of great info if I run across something at a sale that I'm not sure of.

I would be right up there with you if it wasn't for the fact that I'm trying to pay for a wedding. Once that is taken care of, I'm sure any spare dough I have laying around will go into a knife fund.
