This is my first post and introduction. I am a retired construction engineer turned Law Enforcement Search and Rescue Pilot that has been working as a professional gunsmith since retirement. I have now closed my gunsmithing shop to the public and am only trying to amuse myself out in the shop and keep out of my wife's hair during the daytime. I have a large collection of quality knives acquired over the years, both folders and fixed blades. I have made a few fixed blades in the past and now am ready to commit to making some quality fixed blades for my family. I don't intend to ever sell my product, but given the quality of craftsmanship I learned in building custom rifles and pistols, i don't want to do anything partially. I will be seeking advice and supplies thru the forum members. Given the commonality between gunsmithing tooling and knife making tooling I am well equipped. I am eagerly awaiting my dedicated knife making belt grinder from a small quality firm. I understand metallurgy as applied to guns and am eager to learn the nuances as applied to knife blades.
In my knife collection I have a couple of unique collectible fixed blades that since I have deemed myself "not a collector" but rather a user, I will be offering for sale or trade on knife making supplies.
