Been lurking the forums here for a good while it seems now. Figured it was time for me to say hi to everyone.
Started reading the forums here base on the massive amount of information posted here to help with learning knife making and examples of work and work for sale. Truly inspiring stuff.

I grew up doing construction, and when that trade pretty much went bust in the states, I started a sharpening business which catered to dog groomers, barbershops and hair salons.
Did that for about 5 - 6 years, did really well, still do the Atlanta Pet Fair when it comes around once a year and sharpen scissors and clipper blades.
I got an offer from a buddy to come and check out their knife shop in town, and while i was there, asked to sharpen something, a week later got a job offer from them.

Now I am the sharpening guy for Southern Grind.

I have recently been inspired to start working on my first knife. A kitchen knife. Been taking pictures as I go through the process. Will post them for you guys to see one day. :)

The name Mammy came from gaming, I always went by Mammoth and the guys I played with nick named me Mammy, so it stuck.

That's pretty much me in a nutshell.

Glad to see another Georgia boy on the forum! I really like the Southern Grind knife's hoping to get on soon.

Thanks RevDevil. Enjoying my stay, and its my crack atm.

Clanton, let me know and we can probably set up a tour or something for ya.
