Hello All,
As a background I am a 30 year old married father of two from paducah ky. I enjoy shooting/outdoors stuff/ and sports. Dont tell anyone but i am a DUKE fan living in KY.

I have been reading on this site a lot lately as i have been getting into knives and most topics steer me to this website. I have been a member of XDTALK for about 3 years and look forward to learing a lot here. My first EDC knife was a byrd meadowlark i believe. I had it for about 4 years before moving up to a kershaw blur. When i got the blur I gave my brother in law the byrd and never looked back. To date here is my list.

Kershaw Blur
CRKT Lift Off
Esee Izula
Esee Izula II
Esee -4
Buck (cant remember number) little 3 blade whittler
john deere auto (like 1.5 inch blade i got a flea market for $6)
some kind of Fire Dept logo'd flipper tanto knife

My "short list" knives are some kind of spyderco, leaning toward a dragonfly and manix 2. After one or both of those i really want a nice flipper. Leaning towards ZT 350 but probably start with kershaw flash. I have read quite a bit about roller thrust bearings (i think thats right) so i havent completely decided on the assist part. The other thing im getting into is whittling. This is the absolute reason i had to join. I was very suprised to see so many people on here with an interest. I started my first project yesterday on a small piece of 2X4. My goal is to making 3 chain links. Im looking into the basswood stuff so if anyone has an idea for a good place to get it im listening.

Welcome aboard brother. This is the best place to come for all your blade needs. I will worn you now, save your money because this place will make your savings fly out of window. LOL. its always good to see fellow Kentuckian here. But a Duke fan , I would edit that out.LOL

Nothing wrong with being a duke fan..........you did mean John wayne, right? Welcome from eastern ky!

Welcome to BFC! Lots of good people here. Enjoy!

Welcome! Sounds like you've got some great knives, but I hope you're ready to pick up a few more, this place has a way of turning perfectly sane people into broke but happy individuals with bulging pockets and no arm hair. Enjoy :D

BTW, expatriate Kentuckian here, born and raised in Harrodsburg, just a little ways out of Lexington.

Welcome aboard. Please enjoy your time on here. There is a lot to read, learn, and discuss. Make yourself at home and have fun.
