Lo guys, just posting a thread to say Hi basically, Im from UK probably one of a few on here. Knives like any other weapons have be totally ruled out ESPECIALLY Balisongs lol. But it doesnt stop me :)

I own a few knives and plan to get a B42 and Special Sheath.

Whats the rules for knives like in USA?

Hi Dogma,

welcome

Knife rules are different from state to state. I think most states have pretty lenient regulations, with the exception of switchblades.
The BM42 is a great knife. You can't be disappointed with that.

Hello there, Oh right well Englands rulez are kinda good keeps MOST of the nutters from getting leathal weapons, Handguns are totally illegal after some nutter shot a class of kids not nice :(

Our police however are getting more equipt, none of the normal police have guns unlike yours but our Special Response Units seem to be getting heavy handed, well thats what the goverment thinks, they seem to shoot first ask Questions later and there has been a few incidents lately.

I wish it was as simple as from state to state. The states more or less 'set the table', so to speak, and the counties and cities, towns, what have you, put in their 2 cents worth of laws and it's a big mess. At least we can easily get them and if a person doesn't screw up pretty good there's going to be no reason for the police to get in on the act anyway. The federal laws don't come into play very much on a collector/user level. Good luck with your accquisition of a BM bali.

A warm welcome to you Dogma. We hope that we can provide a good e-home for you to come and relax at. If you've read previous posts you can tell there are allot of people here who want this beautiful piece of cutlery to be widely excepted, that goes for all the other countries out there who have begun limiting the use of such extraordinary tools. Hopefully there will be a day when we can all revel in the pleasures of carrying/flipping balisong's on a constant basis.

When I was younger, the "Bobbies" were known for not carrying guns, only nightsticks. How times change, and no, it wasn't all that long ago, that I speak of.

Welcome.;) In Ohio we can carry a balisong on our person. If the blade length is over 3" it has to be carried in a sheath in plain view.

Cheers guys, well I carry mine hidden at all times. If I wore mine in a sheath and the police thought it looked fishy then they would search me then I would get arrested for carrying an Illegal knife :(

welcome aboard Dogma:) . Here in the Keystone state I've asked local police as well as state troopers, the knife laws are so vauge that no one can give you a good answer, and they have all seen my bali on my belt and haven't said a word about it, some even asked to see it and show them some moves. The only thing they told me is as long as it's in plain view, most of them are cool about. But then I have to consider, I grew up with most of the town police and the state troopers I work around, so they all know my reputation.

Hello :)

Well you know who I am don't you?

Brilliant forum dedicated to the worlds best knife... long live the Balisong "Butterfly"!!! :D

I just hope I hurry up and get some money so I can afford my BM42 before my Cheapy China falls apart while manipulating and lands in my eye!!
