Hello all new member here although I’ve been a lurker for some time. As the title states I’m in need of some assistance. I recently purchased a used Custom Knife Factory Morrf-3. The action seemed a bit gritty so I decided to take it apart to clean it up. When I did I noticed a small piece of metal fell out of it. I started to inspect it and noticed that the steel lock bar insert broke. It broke right where the detent was and that also fell out and is now lost. I’ve tried contacting CKF and so far have not received a response. I’m at a loss as to how to remedy this issue and am pretty disappointed. If anybody has any ideas on how to fix this I would greatly appreciate it.

Lots of custom knife companies are slow to respond at the moment. I'd try to be patient and wait for a response. It's surely a replaceable part, just a matter of getting the part.

Sure thing. I'd try to follow up maybe once a week if you don't get a response.

How long have you had the knife? CKF's warranty page says the warranty is only good for 12 months.

If the warranty isn't good anymore, if they have the part, I'd imagine they'd ship it to you from Russia for a fee.

Well it’s used so I’m sure the warranty is probably no good. Don’t mind paying to get it shipped to me as long as it’s not super expensive.

Well, I'd love to hear how it turns out. I guess only time will tell, as I can't find the replacement part online.

Perhaps a picture of the damage might help to better understand what the problem is?

When you make contact with CKF and get a return authorization or how ever they handle it
be prepared to be patient. I ordered some custom Igorded scales for a Griptilian May 11 and it shows
expected delivery June 18. Igor states in his listing that due to the pandemic and cancelled commercial
flights items are being sent from Russia by ship and to expect wait times of 40 to 45 days.

I’m at work and will try to get pics up later. I’m not surprised you can’t find a replacement part. I believe these knives were pretty limited as mine is number 86 out of 120. They did do all the different runs but not sure if the inserts are the same. Either way I’ll update this thread when something happens lol.

Ugh that’s pretty brutal. Thanks for the heads up.

Let us know how it goes, I'm interested to hear myself. None of my CKF knives has ever needed a part replaced, but one of the potential down sides to the CKF model of doing runs of knives and then moving on to the next thing is that you wonder how much the keep in the way of spare parts and such.

That was my concern too about it being limited. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Not to derail this thread but my only personal experience with CKF so far has been limited to some of Konygin’s models which came with bags of spare parts. Is this something which is exclusive to his designs?

Back on track...Best of luck to the OP. I know how hard it is to be patient but some things are just taking what seems like a randomly excruciatingly long time right now (understandable, but still.)

So I did hear back from Ckf yesterday. They said that they’ll try and locate the part but the way it was worded they seemed unsure if there’s one available. So still keeping my fingers crossed.

Not sure. I bought the knife used and all that came with it was the COA and padded CKF case.

I have a Morff 5 and it came with an extra steel insert and other stuff too! Pocket clip, back spacers, & pivot including bearing washers!!!I

Either way that sux! If you can post a picture of it, I'll see.if it's the same as mine!! If it is you can have my extra!! Good luck and keep us in the know!!!
