Hi everybody,

New member here. My dad passed away a couple of years ago and I now have his old axe that I used myself as a kid. I'm not sure how old the axe is, but I'm 51 and my dad had it for as long as I can remember.

I don't plan on using this axe, sentimental value. There's a tiny crack on the handle and I know it will break if I use it. And it will look better as a decoration in the cottage with the original handle than a new handle.

I would love to find a similar handle though to put on one of my other heads. I have used that axe a lot as a kid. I love the light weight of the handle, small diameter and knob at the end. Can't seem to find handles like that anywhere either by themselves or complete axe.

I picked a Garant 26"/1.75 lbs in my hands at Canadian Tire, the handle was the size of a baseball bat and as heavy as the head. I put it back on the shelf, can't see myself having fun swinging that.

They don't make those knob end handles any more. I made one a couple years ago for a Walters restoration.
