Hey all,
Just wanted to do an intro thread - figured this would be the place to do it.
I joined a short while ago. I have read threads on this site for a while, just never had joined. Mostly looked to see knife reviews and get advice on purchases.
I don't have any pictures yet, but I will get on that. Currently this is what I have:
MOD Trident folder with bead blast blade
Emerson A100
Blind Horse Knives Bushcrafter (bright 'hunter safety' orange handles)
Both the Trident and the A100 have the partially serrated blades. I am honestly not the best with sharpening, and I find the serrations pretty handy for chewing through 550 cord. The BHK Bushcrafter I just picked up on Friday at the gun show here in VA. It is a beautiful knife - I got one with the bright orange handles. It actually looks quite nice. It is set to be my hunting/field dressing knife. I have dropped a knife while hunting before, so I was keen on getting a bright orange trimmed knife this time. I bought the knife from L.T., who I understand is the owner of BHK. He was a very nice guy, and I was quite impressed with his knives, and even more so with his prices. Anyways, still quite pleased with that purchase. I have the knife sitting beside me here right now... haha
I have gone through a number of knives now, and I am at a point where I have the ones that suit me well for what I use them for. The Trident was in my pocket for two trips to Iraq and I had my A100 on me for two Afghan tours now. Both did very well, though the Trident just fits me best all around. I would like to get a Microtech Intratech, though that is more of a 'I want to have it for no other reason than it is neat-o'. I am glad I got the BHK Bushcrafter instead of the Microtech this past purchase as I think it will give me much more utility.
Well, this is has turned into a long post. I like this forum very much and have read some very useful advice on here. I suspect I will be a reader more than a contributor.
Take care all
