Just found this forum and decided to join up so that I can learn more about my trusty PCC Bali-Song model 10. Maybe even expand my collection.
Left South Carolina thinking Id be able to get stationed at home but that didn't meet the needs of the service. So I spent ten years in the worlds best canoe club on the Fast Attack Subs. Really got to hone my skills with weapons when I went to shore duty and as with all Navy positions, not only do you get to do your day job, but they'll let you do "collateral" duty to occupy your time. I was lucky enough to pass Base Auxiliary Security and worked my way into one of the Platoon Chief's spots.
I was leaving when the 92 was transitioning into the primary hand gun. So I only got to learn a little bit about it.
I punched out in 95 after my oldest was born. Fast forward 14 years and the kids are doing well in their martial arts training, all of them have completed training in blunt and edge weapons, so we moved on to bows. Natural progression is firearms so I made them study the range rules that we had in our platoon.
I have lived in the Portland Metro Area for the last 18 years and didn't know that Benchmade was located here until last year. I didn't realize that Portland Ore was the knife mecca of the USA, as almost every name brand has an operation going on here.
I picked up my PCC Bali-Song M10 back in 1986 and it is still in my EDC rotation. Just recently started getting the kids into flipping, got to teach them their history. Im 2nd generation Filipino American and recently inherited some butterfly knives that have been in the family.
Looks like a good forum to be a part of.
