Hi. New here as of today. Wanted to introduce myself. I got bit by the knife bug a few years back. Collect mostly BRK & Spyderco fixed blades, and Spyderco folders. I'm not a young buck and knives have filled a spot that used to be filled with other activity and interests. Joined mostly to have a place to sell knives as I change out my collection over time. (I have been active on ebay since 1998 (user lucky417) for casual sales of cleaning out closets, but their recent selling changes requiring SSN and bank account routing # and ebay taking control of funds from PP, has pushed me to find other sources). I've been somewhat active on the Spyderco forum for a few years and have learned much from it and enjoy much of the discussions. I like so many knives but found my funds and it being to easy to acquire too many needed limitation so that is why I stick to those mentioned above; plus I live in Colorado, near Golden, and feel a local connection to the company.

My favorite knife - well it is the FRN Delica 4 that got me!!! Now I'm branching out and trying larger folders.

Welcome to the forum!

The Delica is a great choice. FYI check out the Native Chief. It's one of the larger Spyderco folders, but carries well due to the thin and narrow profile and light weight.

Welcome knifebuddy!

I too love the Delica, but have come to love the Endura pattern even more after some carry time. You should try one out!

Here is the Endura with a Pacific Salt 2 under it, same handle but slightly different blade shape:

Welcome to the forum! For me personally I never got into Spyderco knives but I do enjoy their sharpener :) I appreciate the high end steels they use but the plastic scales aren't my thing. I've found myself more of a traditional knife guy. If I do get a modern flipper it's typically one w/ wood or micarta handles not the FRN/G10.

welcome,

I also started 'modern' knives with an early delica... before that, I just had an old buck 112

these days, my delica is hardly used since the gb2 is just superb
but when I want to carry something very lightweight/low cost, the kershaw leek finds pocket time

whenever I have real work (or a lot of work) to do, I usually go for fixed blades... funny how practicality wins out

Welcome to Bladeforums. Prepare to open your mind and empty your wallet!

All,

Thanks for the "Welcome"!

Really enjoy the diversity in knives and how everyone has their own/personal favorites. All great stuff!!!

I think the Chief is a sleeper right now. I've grabbed one of all the sprints and exclusives and plan to pick up the CS exclusive dropping tomorrow. Unfortunately, I have no carry time with them yet as I've been trying an Endura which has been in my pocket for the last 5 months.

I've been carrying a ZDP Endura for the last 5 months. It was mostly awkward at first but have come around to really appreciating this knife!
