Been an occasional lurker, when doing knife research. Always had a small collection of 7-15 knives for the past decade. Could never afford too many, since I have quite a few expensive hobbies. Motorcycles, Shooting, Fishing, etc.

My latest purchase, I bought on a whim. I remember my fathers buck 110 when I was young, and being the first knife I ever handled, it has always been on my list. So I decided to pull the trigger on an interesting 70's 2 dot 110 with an engraved/scrimshaw bone handle.

I didn't know anything about the knife, and couldn't find ANYTHING similar anywhere online. So I got in contact with the Historian at Buck Knives, and we talked about the knife for about 15 minutes, and although unsure, he thinks its possible it was made in the factory.

He told me that the Tree's on one-side looked like something similar they had done before. He also said that the hiding the Rocker Rivet, had taken some skill and knowledge of 110's. And lastly that the spacer material looks the right color and size to match what they used to use in their fixed blades.

He told me that it was never massed produced, but said he thinks its likely an employee had made a one off back in the day.
However he said without inspecting it in person he couldn't say anything definitively.

Either way I am pretty happy with it, and should be getting it later this week!
