New member, just saying hello and looking for recommendations.

Hey guys, I'm Jonathon from the Caribbean, I just got into the hobby/interest/money pit that is folding knives. My collection isn't large, I started with a few multi-tools a few years ago (Skeletool, Wave and Supertool) the only folder I have is the Rat 2 is AUS-8 and I'm looking at diving more into the hobby.

I really want to get a spyderco cause I feel all knife guys must have a spyderco, my budget is around 80US I've been looking at the polestar, manix2 and the endura. I do think that the RAT 2 is small for me. Are there any others you guys would recommend, even from other brands?

Hey Jonathon! Welcome! Welcome to the club! Funny that you started with multi tools, I’ve been a knife nut for a long time and just got my first leatherman!

If you’re looking to expand your collection I really can’t recommend spyderco enough. You should check out the spyderco sub forum for ideas/advice/discussion. Great group of people over there.

Based on your budget I think a manix 2 is definitely the way to go. You get a LOT of knife and function for the price.

Endura 4 and Manix 2 would be top picks I would also throw in the Tenacious I have heard good things about it and it definitely fits into the budget.

Welcome to the forums Jonathon.

1. Get a Rat 1 in D2. Bigger knife + the steel upgrade is worth a few dollars more.
2. I'd suggest an Endura 4 FFG.
