I'm new here and hope this is the right catagory to post these pics.
I've made knives for family and friends for many years.
This piece I call a "Fighting Bowie". The steel is used in farming impliments.
I grind the detail , weld the hilt ( 4 pieces ) in place, and weld a 1/2" bolt to the end of the 1/4" thick tang. The handle is Oak from a 150+ year old barn floor held in place with a handmade steel bolster. The sheath was made by an Omish friend of mine to my design. It steps out to accomidate the wide hilt.
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Mike
