First of all, I'd like to extend a most sincere thank you to all who have posted and emailed with condolences and words of encouragement. I didn't expect to be so touched by the multitude of responses. Thank you.

In reference to the request for my father's name, given the possibility that someone here may have interacted or dealt with him at some point, I was indeed wondering the same thing. From the receipts we'd found in his collections, it is apparent that he was quite active on the web. His name was Louis Anthony Lierzer of Detroit, MI., passed at age 59 in late November. We've not heard back yet from the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office with toxicology results and an estimated time of death, but it appears that he'd passed around the 25th of November. Incidentally, he now rests in Great Lakes Veterans' National Cemetary in Holly, MI. He'd served as a member of the US Air Force, and if you've never attended a Full Honors ceremony I will tell you that it is a truly hair-raising experience to hear the playing of Taps for a loved one. If any of you believe that you may have ever interacted with my father, please do message or email me...

All of the advice I've garnered here is sound. There is no sense in hastily unloading anything and incurring a loss. As for the gun & knife show, I'd intended to reserve a booth myself and sell only pieces that I'd adequately priced. I wouldn't walk into a show and approach a dealer with the intent of accepting a lowball offer. Just to break even on travel expenses and funeral home costs we'd done just that with most of his tools and fishing tackle collections. It sickens me to think that my uncle and I had turned over thousands of dollars of tools, lures, reels, and rods to ghetto riff-raff for a paultry $400. Additionally, his car with only 36,000 miles was let go for $1,800. We weren't afforded much time with which to work, as I only had nine days in Detroit to arrange the memorial service, funeral, sort through the estate for items with any sentimental and/or monetary value, and try to liquidate what we could to cover expenses. The items of highest value, to me at least, I have retrieved and will hold forever.

The knives, admittedly, I am enjoying handling and getting acquainted with in my preparation for sale. There are a few really special pieces that I am delighted to have and will not sell. He had a custom Bettie Page knife (1 of 5) that will look awesome on a fireplace mantle next to his encased flag. I have one of those spiffy Linder deer foot knives (the handle is an actual deer's paw). There is a very nice George W. Bush knife in a tin that may or may not be worth anything much, but it is pieces like this that I will be keeping.

As for the sales... I spent last night and all day today compiling the list of pieces I would like to sell. It isn't as lengthy as I'd initially anticipated, but here are 89 pieces to be priced and sold. I tried getting pics, but I wasn't satisfied with the flash glare on all the steel. I am shooting for natural lighting in the backyard, but we've had overcast skies and rain for two days. Thursday we're supposed to enjoy some sun, so in all likelihood I'll begin posting pics Thursday night. In the meantime, following is the list for all of ya's to have a gander at. I'll post it in the proper sub-forum here for pricing before I begin posting everything for sale, as I see that "auctioning" items here is dissallowed. Those of you that I'd promised pics to in email will receive a zipped attachment of all of them as soon as I have snapped and uploaded them all.

Again, don't hesitate to message or email with any questions regarding my list. Thanks, gentlemen! :)

NOTE: the condition of each piece is like-new unless otherwise mentioned

RedWings;

This is the thread you need to edit and add prices.

Please read my PM to you.

Thanks.

I have an interest in these 2
41) 24cm Halo III Clone, Black, "154-cm" on blade

42) 24cm Halo III Clone, Black, light wear

I'm not sure if I'm lowballing with this, so sorry if I am.

I'll give you 5.19 paypalled and shipped for the China made butterfly knife. Shipping should be like a dollar, so you'd have around 4 bucks revenue. I think that's around how much a Chinese made butterfly knife goes for.

Actually I think you'd do best to do a group sale of several lots on Ebay, b/c the demand for those knives on this board may be low. Although Ebay won't take autos, but there are knife sites that5 will.

Thread is locked until the original poster contacts me about posting prices. This is not an auction site. If you want to auction them off please do so on eBay.
