Long time lurker finally joined the forum..
I recently had a Snow & Nealley axe head fail (likely due to bad heat treatment).. Will post pics when I get them off the camera. Every phone # I find online for them is disconnected and their website is down. I have been reading about theri recent troubles and hope they are not out of business.
I bought this axe new about 4 or 5 years ago from a Scout camp store and it has little use and zero abuse. Ironically at Scout camp this weekend I was chopping and splitting some small (4") logs and a big chunk of the head broke off in the wood. It was very strange and I never had this happen with an axe. (Seen pics of similar failures online though)
This was right after a woods-tool lesson I was giving my Scouts where I emphasized the importance of having quality woodstools. LOL !
I want to contact Snow & Nealley.
Any addresses or phone #'s from recent communications you have had would be greatly appreciated.
