Hi guys,

New here so I'll introduce myself, name is Jeremy but go by jw1911 on several forums. I'm a christian, husband, dad and CNC programmer. I've always been into knives and firearms. Pretty much a typical red blooded boy from the SEC.

I'm looking for a specific blade style but I don't even know what it's called. I'll call it stubby. I think it'd be super handy for edc. I'm looking for an American made folder with a pocket clip. The closest thing I know of is the Boker Subcom but it's made in Taiwan. I don't know if anything exists but I think the Emerson sstyle opening hook would be cool too.

Feel free to reply, pm or email me. I'm wanting one bad and I don't really know what to look for.

Thanks in advance!

JW

First off, welcome to the forums! Well its kind of hard going by your description, but I think I may have found something that you may be interested in. Maybe a Benchmade MPR?

Spyderco Techno is a awesome little big knife, but it's not USA made.

Emerson does make a Snubby too.. and has your wave.

Nice! Thanks for the leads guys! While I do greatly prefer Made in America I will buy from a country of origin that has standards and a decent standard of living. I do really like German made and I will definitely buy made in Japan. I just would rather do without than buy Chinese or comparable.

What is this blade type called?

Welcome!

Just a word of warning, if you hang around with us you will probably end up with a whole bunch of knives:D.

I have two stubby knives, neither made in the USA. One is an Al Mar SLB and the other is a Kershaw HalfTon (good beater knife).

Jw1911, I just kind of threw "Stubby Knives" into my search engine and came up with a bunch of results. Most of the blades shown are just stubby drop points (since I don't really have a technical term to describe a stubby, is there a technical term to describe a stubby blade besides stubby "insert blade style here"?) If I may, here's a link to another thread about stubbies, maybe you'll find something there too?

Thanks for the input guys and the info on the Boker Plus. I am really digging that Boker Albatros that is made in Germany. Any body got one? Or know where I can buy one? Everything I find online is out of stock.
