new member lots of questions

Just got started into making knives not even sure if I am doing things right. Have been using Black Diamond files can you guys give me some pointers on start to finish. I know this is a pretty wide area to cover, almost done with first knife went with a hollow grind an osage orange for handle looks good so far but I am new to all this thanks for any help I can get.
