Wife and I drive my old Datsun 2000 roadster to Solvang every year for Datsun meet, and just got home. I made the mistake of stopping at Nordic Knives (which I do every year) and I usually go to the knife show as well, but didn't this year. I had a hankering for a folder a little on the large side, but very light. The wife spotted a folder with carbon fiber scales, so I took a look at it. 3 minutes later I owned it for a mere few hundred <g>. It is a Japanese maker by the name of To-un Ihara. ATS 34 blade, 3 3/8", 7 7/8" open. The frame and back spring are all carbon fiber, no liner. It is as smooth and tight opening and closing as any knife I tried there. Extremely light even though it is about my largest folder. I don't expect to carry it much, but really fell in love with it. I'll post a pic later today. Thanks for the great forum.
My EDC is a Fallkniven U2 I've had for a couple years, or one of a couple neck knives made by a nephew in Juneau Alaska, David Mirable. Both are damascus, and beautiful work.
