Bali-song Sensei's,

I have been searching this site to determine which Bali-song was a good recommendation. Based upon many inputs, I have settled on the BM43 plain, it is ordered and on it's way.

I usually only wear sweats (no belt), and keep my BM 710 McHenry & Williams in my right pocket, clipped to the outside.

Has anyone heard of a sheath that goes around the ankle, or that could be worn another way than 'in the pocket', or 'on a belt'? I have seen the neck sheath, but have no experience with it. Could some of you with knowledge help a beginner?

Thanks

MJM

When I have had mfg. supplied sheaths wear out, I have had good luck with saddle shops. They usually have a supply of balistic nylon or can get it. Some times these shops have some good ideas about designing a good pouch to carry your knife. I see you posted from Idaho. Got to be some saddle and tack shops there some where.
Next, go to Balisongextreme. Many sheaths to choose from. Good luck.

I have used Clay's neck sheaths for quite awhile now and think it would meet your needs. I haven't used the IWB yet but I think that would work too.

Hi MJ :)..., and welcome the the Bali-Forum! Happy New Year.

As mentioned.., Clay's neck sheath sounds like it would do the job for you.., although part of my concern is you saying you usually only wear sweats? From experience.., I can tell you that no neck-rig is going to be too comfortable for use in running/jogging..., or jock adventures with a high level of continuous movement.

If you wear sweats simply for comfort, and/or don't mind tapping the sheath down for running several miles.., then I'd go with Clay's neck-sheath <~~ really nice! I've never tried the IWB sheath with sweats, but I do think it performs best using the belt hook.

http://www.BalisongXtreme.com <~~ I'm not sure if the site is back up yet.., but email me if it isn't and I'll tell you how to reach Clay.

Good choice with the BM 43.., hope you enjoy it!

If your sweats has draw strings, then the Baliextreme IWB would work. I wear that set up when I go jogging. Every now and then I'll find the sheath coming out with the bali, but that's mostly my fault in trying to rush it out.

I had a similar question regarding sheaths.

I asked Clay what sheath he recommends for someone one usually wears jeans with no belt...he said he wears his Xtreme basic horizontal whenever he is in sweats and isn't wearing his belt. And since Clay is the man I think that is probably the way to go.

Navajo, Mykl Clark, ExamonLyf, Tonyccw, and Mr YODA,

I appreciate the advice, and the camaraderie on this board. I plan on trying the IWB from Clay at Bailextreme as discussed, wish me luck.

Thanks...

MJM
