Hi everyone,

I just joined this forum so I thought I'd say hello :) My name is Frederiek, living in the lovely Netherlands, industrial design engineer now working on research in telemedicine. Knifemaking is one of my favorite spare time activities and I'm mainly here to read about your experiences and to see what you are making! I made my first knife just over a year ago, but I started a couple of years back by making the handles on scandi blades. Somewhere near my first knife I also started leatherworking. I like to work entirely by hand, making an exception for drilling holes, grinding bevels and rough handle shaping.

This is my last project, it was very demanding for me (making them exactly the same is brutal) but I'm satisfied. Mostly I like to stick to working with natural materials, but this was made on request with white micarta.

Hi Frederiek. Beautiful work, but since you are a knifemaker and sell knives and leather goods through the web site you listed, you will need to get the proper paid membership here to mention that.

I suggest you click on the "Paid Memberships" link above and buy a Knifemaker (orange) membership. I am sure you will be a welcome addition to the forum.

Sure, just friendly advice. They have had problems in the past with people trying to skirt those rules. The cost of a Knifemaker membership is pretty reasonable at $75 per year considering the global exposure you get here. I pay $30 a year myself just for the extra PM space. :) It's well worth the fees just to support the site, and in your case would allow you to showcase your wares.

There is an entire set of subforums for knifemakers to chat with each other about the craft that you might find interesting if you haven't been there yet.
