Hello everyone! I’m a long-time lurker, first time poster. I’ve learned a TON from reading this forum, and I’d like to thank this entire community first and foremost.

You can call me Fire Beard. I have a big red beard. I hate spiders, but I absolutely love Spyderco. I’ve been a “knife guy” since I was a kid, and I’m 30 now. It all started with a fixed blade knife my grandfather gave me when I was about 10. I can still remember the smell of the leather sheath. Seeing my budding interest, my dad gave me a VSA soon after. The first knife I ever bought myself was an Old Timer (remember those?).

Anyway, I’m glad to have finally joined this forum. I have a relatively small collection right now, but I see many more knives in my near future, especially Spyderco - which is far and away my favorite knife company, and one of my favorite companies in general. Great quality and great value! The ergonomics and fit and finish are second to none (IMO) with an outstanding selection of different steels, locks, handle materials, etc. I love their designs: they have everything from the straight-forward to the totally funky, with pretty much everything in between. What’s not to love about Spyderco?

One thing I’ve noticed during my time browsing this forum is that many of you are excellent photographers. I am not, but I’ve snapped a pic of my collection anyways. After all, what would a first post be without showing you what I’ve got? I’m looking forward to participating in discussions with you like-minded individuals. Enjoy!

Thanks for the welcome, Kiloh and Sal. I know it's been said before, but how awesome is it that the man Sal himself posts here? Not pictured above is my Caly 3 CF ZDP and my Native FRN - can't believe I forgot to add them to my crappy picture above!

Also, I was just joking about calling me Fire Beard. The name's Chris.

Welcome to our little corner of the Internet Chris! You know it's odd, looks like someone forgot to drill the spyder hole on that knife to the right of the para 2. ;) ~Kirby

HA! Aside from a Buck 112 and an old Sog Flash, I pretty much stick to Spyderco only...but I just had to have a CRK. It's a beauty, but for some reason, I don't carry/use it very often. Great blade though.

Very cool collection! I do find it a bit odd that only your PM2 is tip down. Every other knife is tip up.

Yep, it's my only tip down knife. To be honest, it came that way from Spyderco, and while my first instinct was to switch it to tip up, I decided to leave it alone and give tip down carry a try. In the 15 months I've had it, it hasn't bothered me in the slightest.
