Hello blade forum world,

Known about the forum for a bit and have visited it quite a few times .. just to come sift thru threads and pics every now and then. I have a slight current Tomahawk obsession - and a previous old Case knives obsession. Any forge recommendations? Any blacksmiths on here who wanna sell just their hawk heads - no haft? I'm always looking for something new and I prefer to use my own handles.

LMAO .. well, my wife loves them. She inspects every one when I'm done. If someone manages to talk me into selling one, she lays claim to a few as being 'hers'. "You can't sell that one, it's mine". I just chuckle and say, ok.
 
I showed your pic to my wife and told her to back off about my collections. And of course all I heard was yeah yeah blah blah blah. But I guess I can't complain too much the only money she spends is on stuff for homeschooling our kids. But I am still jealous of your nice collection. Welcome to the forum.
 
Man, I thought I was bad with axes. That's an awesome collection. I'm getting interested in buying some tomahawks. Any suggestions for a good inexpensive self defense hawk.

Inexpensive (yet functional)? The Cold Steel line works very well. If you appreciate the artistry of someone hand forging steel - then Devin Price's are the nicest hawks for the least amount of money - but he has a waiting line that can be as long as 3 or 4 months. An alternative is http://walkbyfaith777.com (Brian Otto). His perfection is unmatched and yet still affordable. I really like Craig Barr's work too .. but those are not inexpensive.

Thanks bonafide. I'm going to check into those hawks. They seem to be a great SD weapon if you're short of ammo.
 
Also taught myself leather work .. and make my own hawk sheaths too. Might not be the nicest in town, but all hand done and custom made for each hawk head.

I carry one of my rasp head hawks more than anything else. They're also the ones I practice throwing with.
