Howdy All,

I am new, 1st post in fact. Naturally I ran across this forum and have learned a lot and I think you all have contributed to my apparent obsession.

I got re-interested in knives recently and want to confess my sins here because I sure as heck can't tell my wife! (she saw me playing with one and asked is that new? I said no..it was a day old in fact.)

In the last 3 weeks I have purchased:

1. Sage 1 thru Sage 4...love #2 after break in all day and some pencil lead...the rest (1,3,4) remain unopened...till I can get around to them.
2. ZT 0303 - Have not played with this much but is the smoothest opening/closing knife I have ever handled...a tank. Holy Cow knda knife and did I say smooth? NO break in needed for deployment.
3. Strider SnG DGG from TNK - awesome business and quick service...playing with this one now to break in...kinda stiff but also a good size for EDC in jeans at least and very well made.
4. Wilson Combat Star Tac (Umnumzaan) with new pivot...awaiting delivery.

Want a Hinderer XM-18 and 24 but unless I can find them at retail and not 2 or 3 times that...I will wait. Anyone know a business that will sell at MSRP when they get some in?

Is (7) knives in 3 weeks excessive? Hell, there may be one I forgot...I think I may have a problem.

Rodney

Welcome to the sickness. That is a heck of a start for a newcomer. To answer the question....no. I have never seen ANY Hinderer sell for MSRP or even close to it. If you do find a dealer that does MSRP on a Hinderer let me know;). Welcome to the forum and enjoy the ride.

Quite the collection for being a newcomer! ;)

I think you'll find that you can have a love for cheaper production knives and customs/midtechs. They both bring much joy to me when I purchase one or the other.

Go check out some custom makers, you already in the spending range of some out there.

Wow more than I have lol. Don't lie to your wife, she will find out and be peeved that you lied to her. Get her on board make a budget...she probably spends money on stuff you think is dumb too. Honesty will lead to a longer term knife obsession... And you won't be stuck in the dog house with blue balls

Exactly what he said ^^^

I got in a little too deep at first, and had to sell off many knives I had bought on a credit card. Needless debt can cause you much pain down the road, especially if it's not out in the open with your spouse.

If it's within your budget, then no need to worry.

Welcome to the obsession. It's a great ride that I wouldn't trade for anything, except more knives.:D
