Hello everyone! My name is Dane. I'm new to this site and I look forward to talking about knives and what not with you all.
I have always had a pocket knife, but usually it is just a cheap pocket knife that doesn't last too long. I want to get a new knife that will last. It is for EDC. I have decided to get a Case knife. I know a lot of people carry them. There are just so many different types of Case knives! I was looking at the Copper Lock- both the standard and small ones. And I was wondering what you all had to say about them.
Also, if you have any recommendations for a different type, I'd love to hear it. Any info helps. Thanks!

I don't carry traditionals any more, but when I did, I was into large Trappers as much as anything. I have carried a Copperlock before, but I went back to Trappers for the spey blade. A sharp edge and a blunt tip come in handy working around animals.

My favorite traditional patterns came from GEC (GEC, Northfield, and Tidioute). Northfields are real workhorses. Canal Street makes some fine traditionals as well, I just liked the 1095 blade steel in Northfields better.

Oh... welcome to the boards!

Welcome Dane!

I only have a Case Hunter so far and no experience with the other patterns.
But if you like traditional knives you should head over to the Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades forum, there you will find a warm welcome and lots of knowledge about Case and other traditional knives.

Hi. Welcome.

I like the Backpocket model designed by Tony Bose. Blade comes in stainless steel or chrome vandiaum, covers in G10, bone or ebony (maybe yellow plastic as well).
