Hello, I didn't see a new member intro area so I figured I would just post it here. If there is a proper place to do so just move this thread mods.

Anyways my name is Ryan. I am former Navy. I am more into straight razors than I am knives although I do have a few good carry knives and several chefs sets that I inherited from my father and I use as I enjoy cooking a lot. I started my foray into bladed objects with straight razors and then I got into knives later. I also enjoy shooting but that is for another forum.

Anyways I plan on learning lots from this forum and eventually being a helpful member once I gain more insight in the knife world. I can help people on razors though. I do know about them and have a modest collection of users. I restore and hone all my own razors. My favorite two razors in my collection are my Wade and Butcher and my Geo Wostenholm. both from mid 1800's. They shave circles around any of the new production razors.

Although I'm not a collector I do have two of my grandfathers or maybe great grandfathers straight razors tucked away somewhere around here lol . Maybe I'll dig them out and you can give me some insight on them .

I love straight razors, but have never had a steady enough hand to use one proficiently, and really don't have any extra money between all of my habbies as it is :D

There are quite a few people on here that I've seen talking about them though, so I think you're in the right place, though they are probably in the specified forum for it 99% of the time, so we might not be seeing you much in this section :o

If you ever want to know something, don't hesitate to ask here. I've had lots of help from members here, and have learned more than I really know what to do with.

Also, love the name ;)
