This is my first post as the newest member.
I have to thank John Denton from boblovelessknives.com for his suggestion that I join the forum.
I'm a land surveyor that uses knives (especially machetes) daily for a living, a hunter and fisherman that uses them for sport, cooking, and I collect a bit too. I am picky about my knives. I've made some crude knives, but I'm fairly handy with materials and have a decent shop. Maybe some of you can get me motivated to make a real knife or two.
I want to learn from those who have more knowledge and experience, and if I can help anyone out along the way, I'd be happy to do that.
I did have a sad experience with a knife. I had my Bob Loveless 4 1/2" drop point hunter I bought from Bob in 1971 stolen from me in about 1977, and I sure wish I could get it back. It was the rarest of his knives, one that was actually used.....
If anyone runs across it, it had a brown micarta handle, serial number 488. I'd appreciate an email.
Thanks!
