I am considering two of the new Meyerco knives, the Kirby Lambert collaberation and also the Max Q from Darrell Ralph. Does any one have any experience using these knives. I have heard good reports on the Lambert but not much on the Max Q.
I have the shockwave and I find that it's a brute for the price. Big and medium heavy. I consider it worth the money so far. My only complaint is I don't like recurves too much.
However, between the Meyerco Kirby Lambert Shockwave and the Ontario RAT 1 Folder, the Ontario is an even better deal and deserves a look too. The major difference is in the scale material where you get G10 and CF on the Meyerco for $20-$25 more than the RAT 1 which uses a "G10 look" Zytel type material. The RAT 1 uses AUS8 blade steel. The RAT 1 is a fine knife for $30 or less.
I don't have any experience with the Max Q.
Here's a picture of the Shockwave next to my ZT 0551:
And a picture of the Ontario RAT 1 folder next to the 0551 here:
Everything is a little thicker on the Shockwave. The blade stock is a little thicker, the liners are little thicker which means the lockbar is a tad thicker too. But the overall thickness of the Shockwave is minute compared to the RAT 1 which is due to the scales materail bing a tad thinner on the Shockwave.
The Shockwave has a harder use blade grind while the RAT 1 is FFG.
Just a question...where are you finding these Meyerco Lamberts? I have checked all my usual sources and cant find anyone who even list this model. I hear good things about it and would like to check one out. Any info?

I picked my Shockwave up from BladeHQ also. It's a hell of a knife for the price. Fit and finish was pretty much what you'd expect for a $50 knife. Nice grind on the blade and sharp too.
Mine was/is pretty stiff but I'm sure it will wear in with use. My only complaint about the knife itself is the liner lock is a little difficult to access when you want to close the knife. It's pretty much a two-handed operation. A little relief for thumb access would go a long way. I guess for 50 bucks a little dremel surgery is not out of the question.
One caveat is that Meyerco requires you to ship the knife back to them for ANY repair. I lost one of the screws for the pocket clip and had to ship it back to them for repair/replacement. I'm not exactly sure what happened but I had the knife in my back pocket and hooked it with my laptop bag strap. The clip popped off and apparently one of the screws was air-soluble because I couldn't find it anywhere.
