New Micarta Handles ~UPDATE PICS~

Got my new Micarta in today from Tomars. No smoky smell like I had heard of before, but here they are. I dyed one OD Green (ish). I like it, thought you might enjoy the pic!

Thanks! they're not as dark in person, but they are still pretty sharp. I had to mix olive and kelly green, i dont think i put enough olive, but I'm hoping with use they will darked from the oil in my hands.

hmmm, what about tung oil?? I have some of that!!

Hmmmm..... that's really neat. What exactly did you use to die them?

I mixed one bottle of Rit kelly green liquid dye with one pack of iDye Olive powder dye in about 32oz of warm water. Let it soak for about 1.5 hours.

I love O.D. green! And Tung oil on the Micarta= win. That'll keep the moisture out and I would imagine make the scales a bit more grippy as well.
