New Military - Does this look right?

I just got my new Military today. The blade centering is off a bit, but it isn't anything I can't live with. One other thing I noticed is that the lanyard tube looks a bit odd. It seems like it wasn't flared properly. For those that have Millies, does yours look like this? I'm guessing it is just a cosmetic issue? Or does the tube help hold the scales together to some extent? The pics show both sides

Not if you keep looking at it under that amount of magnification, no. My standard G10 looks that way, but I don't really notice it. :p
They aren't designed to be museum pieces, they are meant to be used.
Congrats, that is a hell of a cool knife.

Thanks. The pics didn't come out all that great. Basically the flared edges of the tube don't seem to extend up and over top of the G10. It seems that the tubes edges flared outward, and displaced the G10 out and up. There is a small raised lip of G10 around the tube. Seems like the others I've seen don't look this way.

Better than the way one I've got is, where the tube projects above the G10 on one side and catches things...it looks very serviceable to me. Was the knife purchased new or pre-owned?

I've honestly never noticed on the standard G10 version. I own around 12 Militarys and it's not something I've noticed much. If it was a sharp edge on the lanyard tube, I'd have definitely felt it.

It was purchased new. I'm not going to worry about it. I was able to scrape away a little bit of loose G10 around the hole and it looks a little better now. Still wish the blade was centered a bit better.

I only have one millie, which happens to have a Ti slab and a g10 slab. The tube seems just short enough so it doesn't quite reach either end, however the flare on the g10 side does not push up the g10 material like that. It does have that sort of warped look outlining the tube(which I had never noticed until this thread :P ) but you have to really squint to find it, and I assume that part is normal. I'd say a thin, sharp blade, like a sak, should remove that g10 that is pushed up and you'll be good to go.

Don't know how to post links but there is a great YT vid about how to centre a Military's blade, works a treat too. :)
