So I just got my first Emerson knife today from one of the Prestige dealers (not sure if they are a sponsored dealer here, so I'll refrain from naming), and I am really impressed. I have wanted an Emerson for a short while now, and have been reading, and watching youtube videos about them non-stop, so needless to say I was pretty excited. I was worried though, given a lot of the criticism that I've read about pivots, grit, F&F, centering, etc. etc... well, I can honestly say that this 2012 Mini-Commander has no problems. The pivot action is a little firm, but that actually reassures me. It might take some breaking in, but I'd rather a knife go from too tight to just right than from just right to loose as a goose. Sure, I can't flick the knife opened at lighting speed right now (I can with the wave, but not the thumb disk), but this knife is a TANK. I honestly feel that this thing might be as heavy duty or heavier duty than the ZT 560 I recently got. The lock up is super early (again, something I've seen complaints about), but that's a GOOD thing to me, With the Ti liner lock, that just means that the knife with have a LONG life. As for Fit and Finish... The fit is perfect. No overhang anywhere, and no gaps or anything. There are a few machining marks, the thumb disk has a little ding in it, and the pocket clip has a few scratches, but come on... this isn't a gentleman's folder. I'm not carrying an Emerson to show off to the fancy ladies. I'm carrying an Emerson because it's a badass knife that can take a lickin' and keep tickin'! Lastly, the grind is awesome. I don't think I've ever had a knife come so scary sharp out of the box. This thing is DANGEROUS (already bit me when it didn't quite wave all the way opened coming out of the pocket). I just want to thank Mr. Emerson and his team for making such killer knives. I plan to love and use this thing for years to come. Might post pics when I have better light and have had less beers
