here is a mini khuk I made today. It is 12 1/8 overall and made from 1/4in 5160. The slabs are black G10 but aren't finished yet. Let me know whatcha guys think. BTW there is a small cho filed in too :)

...well I guess I couldn't rightly call it an khukuri style. However, definitely like the ergonomic downward slope of the blade. Have you hardened & tempered it yet? Noticed the numerals engraved into the blade, did you grind it from something else? All in all, really like this one :) It has a certain something (balanced visual design) -good effort sir.

Very nice!
It seems to have a bit o bowie in it. Very interesting.

Can you make it...bigger?:D

Now that's a nice looking belt knife . I especially like the handle contour. I'm kind of partial to my Pen Knife, but yours looks like it would be a dadgummed good field knife too. Great job!

Bill, that's great. I love the design. You do such clean looking work. 5160 makes a great knife. I know that you use it almost exclusively.
I'm getting ready to start the very ambitious project of making a khukuri. Will be using A2.

Thanks for the kind words guys. This guy has been heattreated to about 59RC. This is the 1st proto from a drawing I did. I want to add more inside curve to future models. My very 1st khuk was a very cheap tourist version of about this size. Even that crappy, unhardened version work decently. I had always wanted to do it right. Only took about 17 years to get a roundtuit:)

If I would have known I would have sent you a couple of roundtuits.

Now lets see one about 18" oal with at least a 2 3/8" belly and convexed grind at about 60-61 Rc.:D

A good knife. As far as there is cho, I'll say it' a nice khukuri, and I'm happy to hear it's not the last one.

I did and look what happened (the top one has a heavy convexed edge, the bottom one a flat edge). :D
