hi there i got a new mini mojo today an wanted to know what the black thing that moves on the blade is for ??

That just goes to show the brilliance of the design. He didn't even know it was the safety and still opened it. If you have to put a safety on an AO (i would rather not have one) that's the one to go with.

not to derail this thread, but spiral, I thought I saw a blue handled Bump for trade...wasn't it you that was looking for one?

the mini mojo is a stud lock? (nvm. yes it is, that's why its the mini bump sorta)

why are you against safeties on AO? You mean the lock-closed safety?

I have never had an AO that I felt the need to be afraid of. Often the safety will catch on the edge of your pocket and lock the blade down when you aren't expecting it. I guess my point is how often do you really lock your knives down?

bw, the safety on the Mojo/Mojito is an integral part of the flipper...you have to move the safety before you can move the flipper to activate the AO. They (flipper and safety) are side by side, so if done correctly, the safety pulls a small amount first and "unlocks" the flipper...

I guess it helps for anyone reading this to know exactly what we are talking about. The safeties I dislike are the sliding type like on the Bump, Scallion, Leek et...

Agreed...I tighten em down in the off position as soon as they come out of the box.
