Well I was informed that my wife’s mother and 2 siblings will be live with us in our house in a few weeks. Thy sold their house in Utah and are moving to Washington. Thy bought property and are having a manufactured home put in it so thy need a place to crash. Well that means I have to move the office out of the house and put it somewhere else.
We had this “shed” built for us last year and it was goi go to stay up with the new shop. But I had it moved to the current shop and I’m in a mad dash to finish it so it can be the new office.
It has an 8ft loft but I wanted to support the front half and break up the open space with a small wall.
I got all the electrical in and cracked open the wallet to buy the 75ft 50amp generator extension cable needed to run power from the shop to the office. We had gone back and forth on what to finish the inside with. But considering I work for a pine lumber mill I felt pine was the best and cheapest choice.
Next it’s time to finish the under side of the loft and get the lights in. Oh and I wired in all the driver boxes for the flush mount 1250luman 90+cri 8” flush mount led can light. I’m kinda of an lighting snob lol.
Next is my most favorite part, insulation. Being that this office is containing all the tempering ovens, hardness testers and cryo free.zero it has to be climate controlled. So I went with R15 as that’s the most I can get for a 2x4 wall. And well I did this yesterday, I did not end up to itchy but I’m glad 90% of it is up.
The lighting should be really nice. I am putting up a total of 12 of those can light in this office. So this tiny 10x16 building will have 15,000 lumans of lighting potential. I will post more pictures as I continue. I’m jumping up putting up the rest of the pine. Thanks guys - JT
