Sorry no pictures yet, try to get some tomorrow. It's a Dark Red Mini Trapper in CV, it is my first Case knife.

I use my pocket knife to cut vinyl off a cutter plotter, cut up cardboard boxes, and cut thread on sewing and embroidery machines; I look forward to see how the CV performs. Recently bought a 1in x 42 sander and belts from Lee Valley, going to go for scary sharp on the spey blade, might use it to shave when my DE razor is out of blades.

I have a feeling this won't be my last Case, maybe a sod buster next, or a peanut.

Hope things are well,
Cory

You picked a great knife as your Starter Case. :-)

I look forward to seeing your pictures-- dark red with CV blades sounds sweet.

With CV I would say, "Strop often to sharpen less." You could strop right on the cardboard, works good.

I love CV mini-trappers. I have the same knife but it's in SS. Once you get hooked on CV it quickly becomes a favorite. I know you will love it.

Sounds sweet!

I wish Case would make the Wharncliffe mini Trapper with CV, I'd be all over that.

Congrats on your new Case

Ah, but they do, but single blade only. It's in the stag rancher series. I just got one:

They do need to make one with both blades though.

Well, my very first american traditional I got was a Case Mini Trapper in Amber Bone and SS blades.

So, welcome to the club :D

A great knife, though or even because it has seen some use and pocket time at all.
Yours looks great. No gaps or whatever I can see from your pics. I´m looking forward seeing more of your pics after some use with growing patina.

Kind regards
Andi

Agreed!

(Andi, yours looks great-- didn't realize you had that one!)

Good looking knife, I considered a model similar to that but in CV. I honestly am thinking about keeping the blades polished and well oiled to avoid patina, I really like my knives to shine. I also use the blade as a mirror a lot when working around the house or on my rental properties. I'll at least keep a mirror polish on the spey blade. Once you start using a knife as a pocket mirror you'll find all sorts of uses.

Case Mini Wharnecliffe Trapper in CV. As I said in another thread, I'd love this knife more if it had a better walk and talk. It's a little on the mushy side, but I still like it.

Be very careful with that sander or any power tool for sharpening. Case takes the blades down to a pretty fine edge and it's really easy to over heat. I've had good luck touching them up on the bottom of coffee mugs. CV is easy to touch up.

Would have never thought of using a coffee cup, thanks for the tip.

Thank you guys! I really like that little fellow. Great fellow. I´ve carried it for some time. It has the thickest bone handles, I´ve ever seen on a Case knife (til now). I should have a pic of it, but can´t find it right now...

Now I carry it from time to time... :)

Kind regards
Andi

Nice knife, Cory! That's a mighty fine knife for a first Case knife. Good choice!

I have one just like it in stainless steel. Won it in a giveaway hosted by Pocketedge right here on this very forum.

Congrats on the new MT Corey. It is probably my favorite pattern. Heres is an older mini trapper in Red Bone..

That old Case red bone is incredible.

Noobie pattern question: why is this particular knife called a mini trapper, and not a Jack-something or something-Jack? I thought trappers by definition two blades roughly the same length, but I'm really new at this. Is it that the blades are fit onto the thicker trapper handle?

... Beautiful.
