New Mnandi and a Clip Question * UPDATED / PICS

I had a little mishap with a Mnandi I received yesterday so I was bummed out I had to send it back to CRK. So I found another for sale on a forum and bought it and had it overnight shipped since I wanted a new Mnandi. Just arrived 5 mins ago, it is nice and pretty. I believe it is African Blackwood.

Now a clip question:

Can I purchase a NEW style clip and put it on the knife. I have searched and some say they are interchangeable and when CRK was called they said it wasn't. Has anyone switched their old style clip for the new one? Photos?

The clip "itself" is not interchangeable with the old style clip, which is why you probably got a no answer. However, if you have the retaining barrel nut that goes with the new style clip, then yes it is. I have personally tried swapping old to new and new to old on my Mnandis and it indeed works. You just need both parts. If CRK will not sell you both the new style clip AND the barrel nut, you will need to find a source which sells both.
 
No need to respond, Dennis (d.r.h.) gave an excellent explanation with photos.

So the answer if anyone is wondering is: YES the clips can be changed from old to new, new to old, etc...
 
So after looking at my new knife for a while something just didn't look right. Then I realized the fancier CR pivot side was reversed, so switched it around and looks much better (the way it should be). Maybe a lefty had it first and wanted the nicer side of the picot facing the other way??

I received three 'NEW' style Mnandi clips this morning.

Okay, so there are three pictures below:
Picture #1 - Mnandi with 'OLD' style clip
Picture #2 - Mnandi with 'OLD' style clip removed and 'NEW' style clip ready to be attached
Picture #3 - Mnandi with 'NEW' style clip attached

YES the clips CAN be changed, hope this helps answer and show anyone who has been wondering this.

Thanks for the photos! Really helps! Do I need anything extra to permanently remove the old style clip? (I have an old style Mnandi in the mail!) It looks like there is already a barrel nut and screw. With the new style I had to get a special screw from CRK.
 
Never mind - nyefmaker answered it in a thread I had actually started about my new new style Mnandi!

"The old style mnandi, you could simply remove the screw, then the clip and just re-install the clip screw and it would be fine. With the new style, the clip is all one piece now as its part of the screw also. You must contact CRK and they will send you a screw..."
