My new Mnandi w/ Bocote Inlay just arrived. The Bocote inlay wasn't my first choice I wanted, but I wanted the older style nail nick. My local dealer had it new in stock. I used to own a Gabon Ebony Mnandi (new style) and man that was impossible to open one handed. So when I took this new Mnandi out of the box the first thing I did was open it one handed --> Just like butter. It does look nice though with the Bocote wood. I think she's a keeper, so in the CRK leather slip sheath, then in my pocket she goes....

Very nice color on that bocote! The only thing that would make it better (IMO) would be an old style pivot pin to go with the old nail nick and clip!!! Funny .... in the quest to "make things better", sometimes the opposite occurs (for many folks). My latest bugaboo is the lock bar side polishing of the Mnandi Damascus blades. Scheesh! When I want a Damascus blade, I want to look at etched Damascus, not shiny steel! I realize it may not bother everyone .... but it bugs the heck out of me.

Nice. Very nice. FYI, my brand new BE and basketweave damascus Mnandi opens easily with one hand. Previous Mnandis' did not. I figured they made a change recently.

This is a vey nice knife in a very nice configuration!
Congrats!
For sure you get the most out of it (her) by using.

I love bocate, especially when it goes more brown than yellow. And that is my favorite set up, recessed pivot , flat head on the non clip side, with the old clip.
Look me up if you ever get bored with it. But you should'nt ever, that's a keeper.

Ouch!!....a needless critique about a pivot pin, all while making an irrelevant comment about your displeasure with a change in manufacturing. I just received a gorgeous bark Mnandi with the new style pivot, old style clip, and old style nail nick. Maybe I should toss her in the can? We don't want those icky transitional pieces floating around.
