Here is one I just got in the mail today:

She is a beaut! I have always had a soft spot for cocobolo! This is my first time with the "new nail nick" and I think I will have to get used to it. I still haven't mastered one hand opening within the few hours I have had it. I guess I am just used to the beadblasted finish of the old nick and the sharper edge of the nick that "caught" my finger better. Just needs some breaking in and a little personal adjustment.

I just wanted to share and open it up for comments/tips/tricks for new nick. Honestly, I don't know when they actually made the switch from old to new. Either way enjoy!

The new nail-nick is more rounded on the top inner edge?

That is the perfect gentleman's knife. The clip is very unlike a standard knife's clip. Congrats. :)

I wasactually buying the mnandi when I decided on the small seb cocobolo inlay.

The ONLY factor was that the mnandi had crooked bevel and scratched scale (store model) and he did not have more in stock.

I will eventually get the mnandi in cocobolo and retire the small seb cocobolo to my car console :)

Congrats, you have excellent taste.

Thanks everyone. Yea I am happy with it the color is great on this one. It resembles a small with cocobolo I had and sold with deep browns and reds. I still miss that bad boy.

Hwang, a small cocobolo for the care counsel is a nice fit ahahah I used to keep a CRK in my car but then I thought I would be devastated if someone broke in! Then again most Thieves probably don't know what they are hold when they find a CRK.

Nullity, yes they are rounded smaller and are untextured in the "nick" are. At this point I perfer the old ones.

Ohhhh and that clip...It is so perfect, it rivals the clip on my Shirogorov. I wear it around a hospital all day and I have had several people say "Hey nice pen!" to which I reply "Thanks" as I smile and think: you poor bastard you don't even know what you are missing.

The "new nail nick" I don't think is really "New" at all. I remember seeing a few mnandi years ago on a CRK dealer site stating such. Like some of the other small things CRK has tried on the Sebenza, perhaps its something they tried out on the mnandi years ago and have finally decided to go with it.

I like the "softness" of the new nail nick. If you have to open it one handed, hold it at the nick with two fingers, tip up and flick down.

Maker, I should have put new in "" in my title. Sorry, I meant it's new to me, just like this mnandi. You are right it's not like anything brand new. I have been this style on dealers sites but dont really know when it started and it's the first mnandi I bought with the new style.. Does anyone know when they made the switch?

It's ok but on mine the primary cut out for the nick and the bevel towards the spine doesn't line up perfectly? Is yours like that. If so do you think it was by design? I usually expect that everything from CRK to line up, and I would not expect them to miss such a detail. Anyone else's like this?

While I haven't seen in person the new nail flick, the older one was just peachy. My main gripe would be with the new pivot styling and pocket clip. Though neither are terribly bad on the eyes, the original designs just seem to mesh well with the mnandi style. The older clips on the Mnandi's and the older pivots seemed to flow better with the knife IMO. The question I would pose is, why change an already awesome thing going? I guess the answers could be the same as for the reasons the jimping and pivot style on the Umnumzaan changed. We shall never know. ;)

Have both and the new nail nick is much harder to open than the older. I like the smaller pivot and I'm indifferent regarding the pocket clips. The knives are still a thing of beauty regardless!!
