New Mnandi washer style - both sides perforated

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but I just got a Mnandi (my first) and of course wanted to take it apart right away. Lo and behold, the non-perforated washer is now perforated, with a very interesting design! If this is old news I apologize. I know the first generation has one perforated washer and one plain one. My knife was born in August 2013. Nice to see the CRK line-up getting an added detail, rather than a subtracted one.

I saw that change not so long ago myself, the lock side washer does look pretty cool.

The original first generation knives had two plain/solid washers. Good picture...I wonder where on earth the design for that new washer came from?
