I was told by a friend who read in a catalog about a new MOD fixed blade called the Scorpion. Anyone has any info/specs on this knife? Thanks!

I believe that was a new neck knife. A forum member posted a picture of it after the blade show I believe. The blade was very small with a medium to large sized handle. It looked promising, but it was then still in a prototype version I believe.

The new Brigade Quartermasters Fall, catalog 54, 2000 just arrived. They now cram a huge assortment of knives, with their usual high prices, into the opening pages, instead of squeezing them inside somewhere. The MOD Scorpion is on page 8: 154CM, 6" overall, 2.5" blade, black finish, kydex sheath for neck or belt carry, $79.99 for 9/30/2000 delivery.

The Scorpion blade looks like a miniature Pocket Hobbit or Emerson Rhino, the handle is skeletonized.

Why the hell is the MOD folders so small? No where near the size of a rekat sifu. MOD are designed by knife fighting instructors and yet they are so small in size. One would think that a knife designed by designed by knife fighting instructors would be big in size.

brad1407, please look into the UBB codes for posting links. You just caused what is called 'THE SCROLLING SCREEN OF DEATH'. This happens with large pics or links with lots of text.

The link is created automatically is the following form. Note that I used {} here in this post instead of [] so that you can see the syntax. If I had used [], a link would have been created and you could not read this):

{URL=http://www.thealphabetlisted eightytimesinarow}thealphabetlisted eightytimesinarow{/URL}

If you write the code yourself, you can Change the text in the link to Shorten it. Or use it in a sentence like this:

{URL=http://www.thealphabetlisted eightytimesinarow}STUFF{/URL}

Only the word STUFF in blue and underlined as a link would appear. This will prevent the scrolling screen of death, and can be very useful in other ways. Click the edit button for this post to see how I did this:

Please have a look at MY KNIVES if you like custom fixed blades.

Hope this helps a more than a few folks

Why? They are knife fighting experts. They don't need the extra length, and they don't encourage anyone else to depend on reach alone, rather than on skill and quality. Check out the Spyderco forum for Bram's opinion of fighting knives over three inch blade length.

If you know what you're doing, you don't need it, and if you don't know what you're doing, you're better off running away.
