Wanted to try each steel, so have a 25-5" in each.

The O1 arrived very dull and took some work to sharpen up. The stainless steel sharpened within 2 - 3 minutes. I literally shaved with both yesterday, just the sides of the face as the large curved bellies on hunting knives are not optimal for the task. The stainless was surprisingly smooth. The O1 was still a bit "toothy."

Tried cutting 3/4" Manila rope for awhile this morning, and candidly did not see much difference between them. At first, the highly finished edges (8,000 grit) struggled to cut the rope. After 10 cuts, the edges were recut with a 140 Atoma on an Edge Pro. After that my arm wore out before the edges, and I called it good after awhile. Definitely going to use smaller diameter rope the next time. :)

Looking forward to using them on my next hunt for feral pigs.

CNR,
your skills are amazing. That rendering of the knife is spot on. How did you do that?
Thanks for the smiles.
