Here is a new one based on the Mini Drop Point and Mini Drop Top that I've posted previously. I love wharnies and wanted to design a nice small one for belt carry.

It's D2 from Bohler, .178" stock, flat ground, 5 and 3/4" overall length with a 2 and 5/8" cutting edge. Ready for heat treat.

Comments welcome, thanks for lookin'!

Jonny

Hi Jonny -

The grind looks perfect, very nice looking design.

I bet it will be a tough little cutter.

Nice pictures too - thanks!

best regards -

Nice design and grinds Jonny.

Are you using a guide for your plunge grinds? Or are they free hand?

This is a skelly or are you putting on scales?

Great design. Very appealing and I'm sure it would be a great seller. Beautiful grinds.
Holes are little misaligned but get that sorted and this would be an awesome production run. Did I mention that it's a great design...? :p

Thanks all! I appreciate the comments.

SB, this knife will have scales when finished, this is pre heat treat. I can see what you mean by the misaligned holes. The three in the middle are just weight reduction holes and will be hidden. The two 1/4" holes on the ends will have stainless tubes. When I drew this one up and drilled it out, I was trying to put the holes for the tubes at equal distances from the top and bottom of the handle, equal amount of steel above and below them if that makes any sense. It may not have worked on this one, I'll have to get handles on and see how it looks. So far I have yet to do two knives, even of the same exact design with an identical pin/tube layout. I guess I'm just trying out a bunch of different combinations to find out what I like the best. Thank you so much for the compliments!! It means a lot.

Looks nice. Me likey Warnie blades, too. That middle one of mine looks pretty close to yours. Great minds must think alike. ;)

Thanks guys! I'm kind of anxious to see this little wharnie completed.

Danbo, That wharnie of yours in the middle is frickin' sweet!! All three are nice but I'm lovin' the wharncliffe. Nice grinds:thumbup:

Nice. I am a big fan of warrnies. I will be interested to see how it looks with the scales on.

Even as a skelly, it looks great.

Nice work Johnny ! Great job on the grinds.
Don't worry about Stu's comment on misaligned holes, he's just a really mean guy ;)
Keep up the good work !
Cheers

Well it looks so cool as a skelly or neck knife without scales... You should do some up like that too.
