I'll get a pic a bit later, up to my butt in a last minute Christmas gift order and renos to my barn home. < on going Huge project.
The thong is one piece passed up through the foldbacks so the thong then runs under the head in front of the haft. You cross the thong in front of the haft and tie behind the haft. I'll post a pic later.
