For Ron@SOG
Does Sog have any plans to introduce any new models in the near future utilizing the "arc-lock" but without serrations on the blade? Something other than a tanto would be nice as well.
Signed a left-handed Sog-lover who hates serrated blades:(

Hi Mrd74,

Hummmm.....The super secret SOG Blackworks operatives are always lurking in the dark corners of SOG, actively dreaming up, inventing, and creating new “toys” for us knife knuts to carry on our daily “missions.” :)

It is a tradition for companies in this industry to annually introduce their new products at the S.H.O.T. Show (a trade show for manufacturers and buyers of products of interest to shooters, hunters and outdoors-oriented people). This year, the S.H.O.T. Show is in Las Vegas the first week in February. It is then that we’ll be introducing our new “toys” for 2002. Just sit tight...you guys won’t be disappointed.

For everyone’s information, we hope to have web pages posted at that time, showing and describing our new products. I’ll post a link here when that happens.

I too would own an Arc-Loc knife from SOG if I could get one that had:

1) No serrations
2) No serrations
3) Blade shape other than tanto

It that too much to ask for? Hopefully not.

Thanks Ron, by reading between the lines you told me exactly what I wanted to hear.I guess the Stingray that constantly inhabits the watch pocket of my Levis will soon have a larger relative close by to share duties with.
Signed...One happy lefty:) :) :)

Architect,
I can agree with the Tanto part, but partial serrations are (or can be) a good thing.

I'd like to see a Tomcat with Arc-lock in BG-42. :D
Rob

I too would like to see a Tomcat with the arc-lock especially with a tip-up belt clip set up for deep carry. But I don't think it will happen as the rumour is that it may be discontinued in the near future.I wonder in the Stingray(a knife I dearly love)is going as well, hope not.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!!! I've been dreaming and praying for a SOG Tomcat with the Arc-Lock. (Excuse me while I go and drool over myself). :D

Hey Folks...
I too would love to see a Tomcat with the Arc Lock...I recently got a cocobolo Tomcat as a Present, and since then, I have gotten myself another, in the kraton form to complement its brother....as I said...Tomcat Rules...

Ok, my wishlist would be - something folding, non tanto, preferably BG-42 and obviously arclock.
And of course the long awaited field knife.....

Out of curiosity, do tantos sell better than conventional ( clip, spear ) points? Hope that's not classified :)

It's only classified to people whose names start with "G." ;)

Tantos sell really well on the Vision series! ;)

I crack myself up!!! :)

Seriously, SOG makes a little bit of everything for those who like tantos, clip points, drop points, daggers....

Well there ya go! A Vision with a non-tanto is just the ticket. A straight clip-pointed, plain-edge blade would be my preference. SOG is going to have to use all their self-discipline to not include some fad -- tanto, serrations, etc. -- and just let this knife work on its own merits, but I have confidence they can do it :)

Joe

Same here. A Vision with some belly on it, via spear-point, clip-point, or drop-point. Also, a plain-edge option, although I can live with serrations, maybe I would smooth them out, something I've done with other knives. But the tanto is out. The Vision looks quite nice, but the tanto point is too lacking in functionality for me to pay that much money.

I knew that. Must've been that guy who's name starts with R ;)
So, I figure there's hope. Like Joe said just let this knife work on its own merits :)

Hey Ron, in keeping with the Co. name how about some SOG machetes? I've always liked the round nose variants myself:D Or maybe a micarta handled Scuba/Demo knife?

Have to second the vote for SOG machetes, rounded nose. One of the most useful knives I have is a mil-spec 18" machete.

No serrations and other than tanto sound great to me! I had a SOG nightvision. Fit and finish were excellent, but I dont like tantos or serrations.

Sounds like SOG will be getting more of my money next year.

Also, the non-tanto, non-serrated knives have to be available from from a regular retail dealer at a reasonable, discounted price, as opposed to having to buy it from SOG and paying list price.
