I've been just admiring your knives. Very nice work.
Just one small question: you were saying that the knives were made by Ed Chavar, Ernest Mayer aso. So I presume that you are sending them your designs and they make the real thing? I'm asking this because I also have some concept knives - basically folders (you may see them at my webpage) but I lack the technical skills and the machinery needed to put them into production

Maybe you could enlighten me with this one (as well as the fees involved).

Dialex, Yes that is correct, I send them my designs and the make them for me. currently DMKnives make my designs I put out now. (Grunt(03), Rogue, Trident,Dazed, and the ones that are coming out soon.

Hi Ceya. First of all, sharing designs is ok here. It may be a Spyderco forum which means that the forum attracts people that appreciate our efforts.

It also means that these people can speak, share, disagree or whatever tickles our fancy. I've seen some really nice creativity on our forums. Regulars like Dialex, Simona and many others have used our platform to share creativity on an international level. It doesn't get better than that, does it?

As far as new models; The all stainless Kiwi, the Native III, Assist II are shipping now. I really can't say much more until they're ready. We (I) take too much heat with early announcements that are behind schedule.

You may also want to give Spyderco a call(800-525-7770) and request a 2003 Spydie catalog(no charge) to check out the new models.

I have the catalog but those models are already made and being sold. I was looking for late models that was not in the catalog or prototypes that are being worked on for the coming year (late 2003- 2004).

Sal,You're so right about that! This is one of My favorite sites and Spyderco has been My favorite knife since it's inception.Keep up the great work and Thanks for letting Me Hi-Jack this thread.LOL.tom.
