In a moment of weakness, Lorien decided to fill the role as moderator for this forum. :)

Poor guy.....hope he's up to the task. ;) :D

I have just one goal as moderator of this forum;

to convince knife makers/craftsmen/service providers, who use this forum to promote themselves and their work, to do the right thing and pay their forum dues if they haven't already done so.

Knifemakers/craftsmen/service providers that haven't purchased the appropriate membership, (and who create threads and posts to bring attention to their work) will get a polite reminder via private message first, and I expect that'll be all it takes in the vast majority of cases.

This forum runs on paid memberships. Without them this forum would have to turn to advertisers. Can you imagine a Bladeforums full of advertising? Do you know how much work it takes chasing those advertising dollars, negotiating contracts etc? Don't let that happen, pay your membership fee and take advantage of the incredible exposure this forum can bring to you and to your work.

I'm deeply appreciative of the trust bestowed to me, and will do the best I can to help this forum to evolve and stay awesome.

:thumbup:

Congratulations!!

I guess I'm goin' to hafta spend some more time in here than I usually do, I need to broaden my horizons anyway. Congrats on the momentary lapse of reason and good luck. ;) :)

Remember, I'm a friend. :)

Mods need to be passionate, fair, and open-minded. Lorien = check.

We have remained civil in dialog for years without an active C&HK mod, so that's not an issue which is current.

I've certainly noted, for the reasons above, that those of us who DO pay for the privilege, get 110% in return for the 'fee'.

It's a private community, and possibly the LARGEST worldwide forum community. Extending involvement to those who aren't (aware?) supporting the site is a thankless but worthy task.

There is a grey area to be sure, but I'm certainly going to be a poster child to declare a substantial 'Return of Benefit' with membership.

Good thread.

I heard the new moderator of the Custom forum has to get everyone who's in on page 1 a custom knife, isn't that nice of him? ;)
