New Mora survival knife?

I'm still trying to gather more info on it, I don't read much Finnish ;) What interests me most is the sheath, comes with firesteel and sharpener. It looks like the sleeve holding it could be removed and put on another sheath, interesting. If the price is along the lines of other Moras, this should be a great value.

On the rugged vagina there is a well lit room? Never knew knives had one :p Looking forward to this one :D
 
I haven't seen it in real life, but it was shown at the IWA in Nürnberg (think german version of shot show) last weekend.

Edited to add: as long as the sheath comes with what I have seen, and not what the translation "says", I'd be interested.

Thanks for the English version. I didn't know that Mora made the firesteel as well, wonder how they compare to say, LMF? Pretty cool though, I am interested in checking one out when available.
 
I think a rubber band would make a far more functional firesteel holder then those plastic clips that will surely snap off one by one every time the sheath is banged without the firesteel in it. But hey, its good to see Mora thinking outside of the cheap carpenter's tool box.

You may be right though. The sheath material being just hard plastic, if they don't flex then they might not last long.

That's what I was thinking. The first time they get snagged, they're likely gonna go white and then snap off. They woulda been better off with a solid loop. Still neat though.
 
It is pretty neat. I wonder if they've improved the retention on the sheaths. That's the first thing I'd want Mora to do.

Let's hope not. ;):p

Seriously, the sheath itself looks to be a standard 911 sheath with the loop changed out. They're not bad on retention. Certainly better than most Moras.
 
Haha :D True. I'd still prefer some custom fitted kydex anyway :)

Never tried a 911, but the sheaths on the Allrounds I've gotten recently have been better.
