Chetchat (Nick) has suggested something I find hilarious regarding the AKBowie: calling it the Himalayan Imports "bird and trout" knife.

See the below link for full details:

http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum26/HTML/001037.htm

If you haven't already guessed, that's the thread where Wrong Friend's friend brought an HI 15" AK to show their friends, not knowing that WF had shown everyone else his 20" AK the week before.

Nick suggests me sending in a picture to one of the knifezines that has a owner/knife page of pictures.

And I have the perfect hat to go with it, too! A fifteen year old "Indiana Jones" brown wool hat that I washed, starched and reshaped, replaced the hatband ribbon with two wraps of black leather, added a 1 1/2" crossed khukuri/Nepal pin instead of a bow, and stuck a peacock feather behind the pin. Figured it was time it got worn again, finished it last night and it was dried out this morning.

Then again, I should have been asleep an hour ago. Well, you've heard people saying they could write 'that' in their sleep? We'll find out if I can, tomorrow morning.

Rusty,

I have a AKB prototype that will find it's way winging to you if you'll do the pic with it and your SS, send it in to Blade or whoever - maybe take the pic showing the muddy ground at your feet with a Grizz track prominently displayed...they have Grizz in NV?

Rusty - whoops, need an "l" after "htm" above!

I told you I should have gone to bed an hour earlier.

"Bird and Trout" ROTFLMAO! If you want to laugh even more, go to Community, and read the "Gerbil Jihad" thread.

:
Bird and Trout.
Well the large record breaking size of Lake trout would be nice cut into steaks with it.
It could even be used sooner to kill the trout with a sharp rap to the head where the clip point ends.(vbeseg)
Then some of the 40+ Lb. Turkeys would be nice to carve with one.You sure wouldn't have to worry about any of those pesky bones or joints!!
LMRRAO!!

And Uncle to answer your question that you had on another thread....Yes I can take a pix or two of the modified handle.
I don't know how well they will show up though.
I really do like this knife. It reminds me of the ones I made when I was a Lot Younger out of old car springs.
Most of them were longer, but not as thick and they were still tough as horseshoe nails!!

If you mix milk of magnesia with vodka and orange juice do you get a phillips screwdriver?

:
Brother that would be my suggestion!!
The handle is big enough to do some quite extensive mods to.
Mine is very comfortable now and I Really like the "looks & feel" of the sanded horn.
I did grind a bit of the swell off the bottom center of mine, but it may be fine for the bigger guys like Cliff and that other big Northern guy ( Canadian)(Jim?)

Khukuri FAQ

The handle felt okay in my hand as is so from a personal preference I don't think I would have to do anything to it. Of course, I didn't go into the woods and chop all day with it either! That might make me change my mind about mods -- but there is certainly enough there to modify.

Thanks for valued input!

Dear forumites, if a 15" AK bowie is bird & trout, what a "Rambo survival super macho AK" will be?
