Is it just me, or have others noticed this as well?
Every day I visit/read/post on about 5-6 other sites, in addition to this one.
On these other sites, over just the last couple of months, it seems like there are HUNDREDS of new makers/enthusiasts/etc on every site!
Seems like there are new names popping up every day!
Anyone else notice that?
 
I agree, Karl. Many new names. By the same token, many folks who used to post quite a bit have been quiet. So much so that it's noticeable in the way this forum itself "feels".
 
Yep, make room and give help to the new folks, as each of us go on our own initiative and drive.
 
There's a lot of new makers out there, and even more so with the advent of internet forums.

The thing is, every few years, there's a thinning of the herd, and that's a lot of what you're seeing right now.

I can probably name 10+ relatively well known, full-time makers (most newer) that have hung it up recently. It carries over to the forums as well, so that may be what you're seeing.

Plus, it's the Holiday season, the economy isn't that great (housing market and such), so people's interests are elsewhere right now.

But you're right, and I've noticed that it's been a lot different since Blade last year.

That might be me. I use different names on different sites. hehe:D

They come and they go. Its always in flux. The idea is to be one of those who stays and makes a place for him or her self at the table.
I believe you are one of those.
