Been away from the forums for a while (going through a divorce - wife told me on our anniversary that she wasn't happy anymore. Later found out she had someone else). Anyway, Leatherman Core to be discontinued? Wow! Tell me this is just a rumor, not true? If this is true, anyone know what will take it's place? Also, caught a glimpse of the new Leatherman folder at Target part of the Crater series I believe. Look a lot better then the old versions.
 
Sorry about the divorce,I am sure you will come thru it ok.I believe the core is to be discontinued.I got a survey from leatherman about a new tool with similar features so that rumor looks to be true,I have not seen any of the new knives in person.they look good on the leatherman homepage thiough.I hope this hobby of ours provides you with some measure of comfort,in time things will be better.hang in there.
 
Sorry to hear about your divorce. I know you can pull though it.
These rumors are news to me. I didnt hear about it.
But I like my Core and are not sure how a better version would look, maybe a surege with the core tools? I would like a diamond saw like the PSTII had though.

If anybody has a link please let us know.

It may be the end of one wonderful chapter of your life, but it's not the absolute end of your book.
And no matter how you may feel, or what you may thinking about at the present time - I'ld like to share that there is no greater fulfilment than in a seeking a lifetime's pursuit of serious hobby.
As for Leathermans, you can always count on change for the better.
They seldom make mistakes.
 
Sorry to hear about the divorce. I'm married too--5 plus years, and counting. Found out yesterday that an old friend's marriage is on the road to divorce-ville, too. I know of a few other marriages that are on the rocks also.

PS: I'm still digging the LM Wave I bought from you some months ago.

I see that the local Home Depot store is selling a Leatherman Core/Leatherman knife combo package in their holiday tool sale section so Cores are still readily available.
 
Hi Morablades,

I agree with you about the new Leatherman Crater series. A vast improvement over their previous knives.

I just got the Expanse e33B and the Expanse e55B knives. Even better than the Craters. I think the e33B will be my EDC for a month or so.

Wow! That looks very similar to a kershaw/onion type design. Almost like one of teh Bump series. Picture it with a recurved blade instead and it could really pass for a kershaw.
 
morablades, i do not know you but feel your pain my friend. i have been through a divorce and my second marriage almost fell apart. if you are a believer now is the time to cling to GOD, i also found that isolation is your worst enemy and it causes you to dwell on the terrible issue you are going through. i realized that when sharing with those whom i care about i was not focusing on my divorce and the more time i spent with family and friends the quicker i was able to recover. i wish you the best my friend. GOD bless you and start getting excited about the oppurtunity of making a new life for your self.:thumbup:
oh, i almost forgot. LEATHERMAN RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
 
Wow, they must be planning to replace it with something similar. The Core is basically the replacement for the SuperTool, which was my Multi of choice until I grabbed a charge. I keep a Core in the back of the car.

I appreciate everyone's encouragement. Catching her with another man was something that I never want to go through again. The divorce is final and I am moving on with my life. My head is back on straight now and I'm looking forward to a date next Saturday. I have known this girl for two years and we communicate very well with one another. She is single and maybe she will take our relationship a step further. Time will tell. As far as my Leatherman Crater and has stood the test of handling some very rough jobs. It's one of my new tool bag knives.
