Checked out the 2010 SOG's. I am disapointed. Price point and material wise, seems to be on par with CKRT, a niche CKRT fills admirably. At least some of the older models are still around, and a few high $$ items in the fold

I think the swedge(s) will be interesting, but the lower end Sogs have always seemed gimicky to me. That being said, I love my Spec-Elite...

That Sogzilla screams Spyderco, and I do like it except for the steel and the thumbhole.

The Pendulum looks interesting...kind of like a bigger Vulcan (one of my favorite knives and most edc'd). I don't get how the arclock works on the Pendulum.

Wow, they basically just copied and ever so slightly modified a bunch of other companies designs. I like the look of the Toothlock, but wonder how comfortable that handle would really be?

Honestly, so far I have not been too impressed with any of the big company stuff I have seen for this year. Nothing grabs me as "I HAVE to buy that." Maybe I will save some money....

The deisgns and the steel they are using seem rather cheap.

Msrp is around 50 on most of the new items. It seems they are going down market, most likely as a result of the success of their Fusion line.

Oh well...

Spyderco's Byrd line has equal to or better steel, and at a lower price. Heck, for literally just a few buck more, you could get the real deal, a VG-10 Spyderco Delica or Endura!

Does anyone know where the SOGzilla large is manufactured? USA or overseas?

Going off of the steel they're using (if they're being truthful about their steel) for the large model (8Cr13MoV), China all the way!

Too bad SOG couldn't use some of that creativity they're always writing about to design a truly unique knife!:barf:

The Zilla knives kind of tick me off--blatant Spyderco knock-offs.

The carbon fiber laminate Tomcat just confuses me...it's maybe good news if you're a lefty, but the one-sided tanto just looks like it'd get in the way for a right-handed user.

If the little E-Clips tool isn't crap it could be a fun little toy for not too much money, but overall I have the overall feeling that SOG set the bar reeeeaaaaaal low this year. :barf:

That's the worst line up of blades I've ever seen :barf:

Yup. Pretty awful. I hope whoever pushed this product lineup from within the company has a bad year. That was just painful to look through. There were some decent ideas, but overall, the execution was just nasty. Everything looks so... cheap.

The only decent design and execution out of the new products seems to be the pendulum.

On a comparison basis of SOG vs. CRKT, My Tigh is a upgrade to my Twitch XL in fit. My interest in SOG is only in their multi-tools.

So now we've got Sog bashing going on two threads simultaneously? I'm glad at least somebody else likes the new swedges because I'm going to buy one when they come out. I don't think anyone can accuse Sog of copying when it comes to those three models.
As mentioned above, I also really like my Spec-elite II ; a big strong, elegant folder. In fact I like the whole Sog pentagon line. The Pentagon dagger and the mini-Pentagon dagger are, IMO, excellent deals for lovers of double edged knives.

The swedges look interesting, but not interesting enough for me to want to pick them up. :)

It was you who brought this thread back up from 7th page... and why? Just to record your complaint???
